Today I went to the church of S. Giovanni in Laterano. This church is known as the "Mother of all Churches", and is dedicated to: Our Savior, St. John the Baptist, and St. John the Evangelist.

On Saturday night, I went out with some of the people from my group. Anna Emmel (whom I met on the plane flight to Rome) has a friend, Nille, who has lived in Rome for over a year now. They went to highschool together and decided to meet and hang out. Anna found a few of us without plans for the night and invited us along. In this picture from left to right is: Nille, Anna, Dan, Jackie, and myself. We had a great night of eating (he knew of an AWESOME ristorante that was good and inexpensive!) and drinking wine. The only thing missing was the Italian chesse. But we made up for that with fellowship. Nille is a great guy.

This is Ponte Matteotti, the bridge that I walk across almost everyday on my way to school. I live on the left hand side of the bridge and down the street a little (you can see the house in this picture - it's the tan building next to a dark grey building) and P.za del Popolo is to the right and behind me as I took this picture.

Prayer Intentions for Feb 12

Balza family

Becker family

On Saturday I went to the Lenten station church of S. Agostino. This church is dedicated to Saint Augustine of Hippo. (Yes, the St. Augustine who wrote 'Confessions').

This is the view from my window. (No, I'm not in jail). Oggi e bello giorno!

This is the place I live (the infamous St Thomas Bernardi Campus). My room is on the right hand side of the building in this picture. If you look at the nine windows on that side of the building, my window is the one in the middle. There is even a little gas station iin front of our place!
