On Saturday I went to Lenten station church of San Pietro in Vaticano. This is the patriarchal basilica dedicated to St Peter the Apostle.

My standard piece of advise regarding St. Peter's:
Go between 7 - 9 a.m. From 7 - 8 a.m. daily masses are being celebrated. From 8 - 9 a.m. confession is available and the mini zambonis are out cleaning the floor. During that time, there is hardly anyone there. :-)
